Ahaidea SMS Program — Terms of Service, Privacy Policy & Opt-In Policy
What this program is
Ahaidea (ahaidea.com) is a Toronto-based Korean-Canadian community classifieds and
bulletin board website. This SMS program lets a poster manage a single listing they
asked us to publish on their behalf (a job posting, room rental, marketplace item, or
general community listing), without needing to create a website account.
How a customer opts in
A customer contacts Ahaidea directly (by phone or in person) and asks us to publish a
listing on their behalf. As part of that request, they verbally provide their mobile
phone number and explicitly agree to receive a one-time text message containing a
secure link to manage that listing. No phone number is ever added to this program
without the customer directly requesting it in this way.
Verbal consent script
Our staff reads the following before collecting any phone number:
Staff: "To let you manage this listing yourself, we can text a secure link to your mobile phone. You will receive one text message for each listing you ask us to post. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply HELP for help, or STOP at any time to stop receiving these texts. Our SMS terms and privacy policy are at https://ahaidea.com/SmsOptIn.aspx. Would you like us to send you this text message - yes or no?"
Customer: "Yes."
Staff: "Thank you. We will text you the link shortly after your listing is published."
A phone number is recorded and messaged only after the customer answers "yes".
If the customer declines, no number is stored and no message is sent.
What messages are sent
Each customer receives a single SMS shortly after their listing is published, containing
a link that lets them view, edit, or delete that one listing.
Most of our customers are Korean speakers, so the message is sent in Korean.
This is the exact message we send:

Message frequency
One message per listing request, sent one time. A customer who never asks us to
publish another listing never receives another message. Across all customers this
is currently about 20 messages per day, and we do not expect this program to exceed
1,000 messages per month.

Message and data rates may apply.
Opting out / help
Reply STOP at any time to a message from this program to stop receiving
further texts. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at
info@ahaidea.com.
Terms of service
- This program is offered by Ahaidea Corp to customers who ask us to publish a listing on their behalf.
- Messages are transactional service messages relating to the customer's own listing. We do not send marketing or promotional messages through this program.
- The link in the message grants access to view, edit, or delete only the single listing it was issued for. It expires 30 days after it is sent.
- Customers are responsible for keeping their link private, and for the accuracy and legality of the listing content they publish.
- Ahaidea may remove a listing that violates our community rules or applicable law.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy policy
- What we collect: the mobile phone number the customer verbally gives us, an optional name or business name, and the listing content they ask us to publish.
- Why we collect it: solely to send the one-time management link for that listing, and to let the customer manage it afterwards.
- Who we share it with: nobody, other than our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) as needed to deliver the message. We never sell or rent phone numbers, and we never share them for marketing purposes.
- How long we keep it: the management link expires 30 days after it is sent. Customers may ask us to delete their phone number at any time by emailing info@ahaidea.com.
- Opting out: replying STOP immediately stops all further messages from this program.
